HDW Attorneys Named to Southern Nevada’s Top Attorney List

Four Firm attorneys have recently been named to the 2018 Southern Nevada’s Top Attorneys list as announced in June’s edition of Nevada Business Magazine, compiled by Legal Elite.

Shareholders Ogonna M. Brown and Cami M. Perkins were both named to the list as were Of Counsel attorneys Donna DiMaggio and Joanna M. Myers. Attorneys are recommended for this honor by their peers.

Ms. Brown’s law practice includes work in bankruptcy and commercial litigation while Ms. Perkins works in business, commercial litigation, and real property. Ms. DiMaggio concentrates her practice in construction law and Ms. Myers focusses her practice in the area of intellectual property.

Meier Addresses Cutting Edge Business Leaders

Holley Driggs Walch Fine Wray Puzey & Thompson Partner Glenn Meier was recently invited to address the Eleventh Annual Conscious Capitalism CEO Summit in Austin, Texas.

The event provided a forum for over 250 senior leaders from businesses that practice the tenets of Conscious Capitalism, an organization that believes that free enterprise capitalism – when practiced consciously – is the most powerful economic system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. Practitioners of Conscious Capitalism dedicate themselves to the mission of elevating humanity through business.

Mr. Meier was invited to speak to the summit on legal approaches specifically designed to support practitioners of Conscious Capitalism, and he managed to work in a few lawyer jokes as well.

Mr. Meier continues to support this important business movement through his practice and as one of the founders of the Conscious Capitalism Chapter of Las Vegas.

Ogonna Brown invited to join The American College of Bankruptcy

Holley Driggs Walch Fine Wray Puzey & Thompson is proud to announce that Partner Ogonna M. Brown has been invited to become a Fellow in The American College of Bankruptcy.

This prestigious invitation is based on a proven record of the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and service to the legal community.

Ms. Brown will become one of only five Fellows in the state of Nevada and will join fellow HDWFWP & T Partner Richard F. Holley on that accomplished and respected list.

Ms. Brown will be officially inducted into this elite organization in the Spring of 2018.

Shareholder Kim Stein named Volunteer Attorney of the Month

Firm Shareholder Kimberly Stein was named as the Southern Nevada Pro Bono Project’s Attorney of the Month for September. The award presentation occurred at the monthly Civil Judges’ Meeting.

Ms. Stein is well known in the Las Vegas area for generously giving her time and resources to several charities. Ms. Stein is a Regional Trustee of the Las Vegas chapter of Olive Crest, a charity that serves at-risk children in the community.

Ms. Stein has been practicing law in Nevada since 2003.

Reno Construction Contract Workshop A Huge Success

A team of Holley Driggs Walch Fine Wray Puzey & Thompson attorneys recently presented a construction contract workshop in Reno, Nevada.

Those who attended the day-long seminar left with added knowledge on contracts, bidding and project documents, as well as the ability to recognize and avoid ethical pitfalls common to construction contracting while ensuring honesty, integrity, fair-dealing, and quality assurance throughout the construction process.

HDWFWP & T shareholders Brian W. Boschee and William J. Wray along with senior associate Donna DiMaggio travelled to Reno and presented this valuable information to a group of engineers and contractors.

Kristol Bradley Ginapp Named Partner at HDWFWP & T

Holley Driggs Walch Fine Wray Puzey and Thompson is pleased to announce that Kristol Bradley Ginapp has been named as a Partner and will work out of the Las Vegas office.

Ms. Bradley Ginapp’s practice is primarily made up of Employment Law and Commercial Litigation.

Originally a native of Colorado, Bradley Ginapp has been practicing law in Nevada since 2003.

Puzey inducted into University of Nevada Sports Hall of Fame

Holley Driggs Walch Fine Wray Puzey & Thompson’s own James Puzey was recently inducted into the University of Nevada’s sports Hall of Fame.

Puzey played baseball for the Wolf Pack from 1982 through 1985, finishing his UNR playing days with a career batting average of .355. At the time it represented the highest average of any four-year player in Wolf Pack history. Puzey was also the UNR leader in career hits, runs, double, base on balls and hit by pitch when he left campus.

Puzey is the only Wolf Pack player to be named All-NCBA First Team three different times.

Puzey represented the United States of America, playing on the U.S. National Baseball team. In the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela, Puzey led team USA in hitting with an amazing.778 batting average.

Puzey was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball draft after his senior season. Puzey played five seasons in the Cardinals’ organization reaching the AAA level. Puzey was invited to and played in Major League spring training games in 1990.

Puzey ultimately retired from professional baseball to be with his family and to pursue law.

Martindale Hubbell has designated Puzey as an AV-rated lawyer, which is its highest rating.  Puzey has been recognized in Super Lawyers as one of the top lawyers in the Mountain States (Nevada, Utah, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming) for 2013-2015, and he has been selected to join the Corporate America Legal Elite of 2015.

Five attorneys of the Holley Driggs Walch Fine Wray Puzey & Thompson law firm have recently been named to bestlawyers.com’s “Best Lawyers in America” list.

Richard F. Holley, J. Douglas Driggs, William J. Wray, Glenn F. Meier and Dennis R. Haney all were nominated and named to the group.

Holley was recognized for his work in bankruptcy and creditor rights/ insolvency and reorganization law. Driggs was named in real estate law. Wray, Meier and Haney were each listed in the construction law section

HDWFWP&T Delivers For Kids

Holley, Driggs, Walch, Fine, Wray, Puzey & Thompson came through with flying colors for students in Nevada, in the Communities In Schools, “Fill The Bus” campaign.

Several boxes of school supplies were collected by the firm and delivered in early August. Promotion wide, over $135,000.00 worth the school supplies were collected.
