Holley Driggs Shareholder Andrea Gandara talked with The Deal about nursing homes and long-term care facilities dealing with litigation for alleged Covid-19-related deaths of patients and residents may soon begin seeking bankruptcy protection. Specifically, she noted, “Nursing homes and long-term care facilities could be forced into court if they have significant increases in the amount of money they must spend to defend against claims for Covid-19 deaths and infections or pay for personal protective equipment to safeguard employees and patients, which in turn may impact their ability to pay creditors.
